Jessica Beth Mahowald (Wubbels)

Jessica (Jessi/Jessa/Jess) Beth Mahowald (Wubbels) passed away peacefully in Seattle, WA on August 27, 2022 at the age of 45.
Jessica is survived by her parents, Brad and Brenda Wubbels, brother, Justin Wubbels, son, Isaac Mahowald, partner, Jason Dagit and many, many friends and loved ones.
Jessica was born on March, 8 1977 in Karlstad, MN to her loving parents Brad and Brenda. She graduated from Tri-County High School in 1995. She graduated college from The University of Minnesota - Duluth with a degree in Biology and Chemistry in 1999. After college, Jessica joined the Peace Corps where she served for two years in Kamakechi, Zambia. After the Peace Corps, Jessica moved to Seattle, WA in 2003 where she became the Lead Autopsy Technician at the King County Medical Examiners Office for 16 years. She then moved to the Emergency Medical Services of Seattle and King County Public Health Department as a Project Program Manager of the Regional QI Dream Team.
Jessica welcomed her son, Isaac, into the world in October of 2013. He was her greatest blessing and they shared a fierce love. Isaac once told his mom, “As long as we both have arms we can hug and love each other.”
Jessica loved to sing, dance, knit, read, do puzzles and go on fun adventures. Some of her adventures included traveling to Iceland; learning how to fly fish in Montana; zip lining in Hawaii; teepee camping and many trips to the coast with Isaac. She will be remembered for her passion for living life to its fullest, her enormous love for her son, family, partner and friends. Her laugh was contagious and could be heard around the world.
Jessica asked that her ashes be spread at her “Happy Place”, which is her parents home on Steamboat Lake in Laporte, MN where a small group of close friends and family will be in attendance. In lieu of gifts or flowers, please send donations in Jessica’s name to Jack Pine Stables by mail at:
