Kittson County Board of Commissioners Proceedings/June 23, 2026

Attendance: Commissioners: Gillie, Younggren, Johnson, Swenson, Jones, H2Overviewers and John Kolb.

1. Call to Order 

The meeting was called to order by Chair Younggren.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

3. Motion to Re-Convene the Continuation of Ditch Redetermination Hearing

Motion: To re-convene.

Motion by: Commissioner Gillie

Second by: Commissioner Jones

Motion carried

a.     Group 2

                        i.         CD 9-no comments

                      ii.         CD 16

                     iii.         CD 25

                     iv.         CD 29-no comments

A small concern was heard on CD 16 with many concerns being heard on CD 25.  Mainly being the loss of benefitted landowners hence adding a larger tax burden on the remaining landowners.

Motion: To continue CD 25 to August 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM

Motion by: Commissioner Gillie

Second by: Commissioner Johnson

Motion carried.

Motion: To adopt CD 9, CD 16 and CD 29

Motion by: Commissioner Swenson

Second by: Commissioner Gillie

Motion carried.

b.     Group 3

                        i.         CD 14-no comments

                      ii.         CD 15-no comments

                     iii.         CD 19

                     iv.         CD 20-no comments

                       v.         JD 31

                     vi.         SD 84

Many concerns were heard on CD 19.  More discussions need to held with the Two River Watershed on JD 31 and SD 84.

Motion: To approve CD 14, CD 15 and CD 20.

Motion by: Commissioner Jones

Second by: Commissioner Swenson

Motion carried.

Motion: To continue CD 19, JD 31 and SD 84 to August 6 at 10:00 AM

Motion by: Commissioner Gillie

Second by: Commissioner Jones

Motion carried.

 

 

4. Adjourn to Recess

Motion: To approve to recess at 5:45 pm  

Motion by: Commissioner Johnson

Second by: Commissioner Swenson
