7. Kittson County Sheriff Matt Vig
a. Vig asked for approval to advertise for a part-time Deputy. This position would save over-time dollars for full-time staff. The position must not exceed 24 hours per pay week. The position is a 6 month temporary position to be re-evaluated after the 6 months.
b. Sugden reported that Sheriff Vig met with the personnel committee to discuss the position. The personnel committee asks that either Sugden or HR Generalist Burton be involved in the process to ensure compliance with legal hiring practices and union agreements.

8. Kittson County Highway Engineer Arthur Kukowski
a. Kukowski presented for approval a utility permit from Enbridge Energy.

9. Kittson County CFO Shirley Swenson
a. Swenson presented the Notice of Public Hearing on June 6 at 9:00 a.m. for Northwest Regional Development Commissioner where they will set their 2027 budget. No action required.
10. Kittson County Administrator Aimee Sugden
a. Sugden requested approval for Resolution
#26-08
APPOINTING A COUNTY ENGINEER
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 163.07, requires that a county board shall appoint and employ a county highway engineer for a term of four years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kittson County Board of Commissioners that Arthur Kukowski is hereby appointed County Engineer for Kittson County for a four-year term commencing January 1, 2026, pursuant to the provisions of Minnesota Statute, Section 163.07.
