Obituary/Violet J. Levenhagen, 89

Violet Jane Karol was born in Mckinley Township on August 31, 1936, to George and Mary Karol.  She attended country school until the 8th grade and graduated from Lancaster High School.  On March 14, 1954, she was united in marriage to Willard Levenhagen at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Bronson.  Following their marriage, they moved to the community of Coates, Minnesota, near Minneapolis.  In 1960 they purchased a farm in Percy Township of Kittson County, where they operated a dairy farm and raised small grains and cattle.  She and Willard worked side by side on the farm and raised seven children. Violet worked as a seamstress for Arctic Cat in the ‘70s and later ran the Lake Bronson Food Pantry for a few years, all while raising a family and keeping up with helping on the farm and her household chores. 

Violet was a wonderful cook, baker and canner. She spent hours in the garden raising vegetables for family and friends.  Violet and Willard spent 71 wonderful years together and will celebrate their 72nd wedding anniversary together in Heaven.  Willard passed away on April 1st of 2025.  Violet was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and helped organize many special events for the church.
 Family members include her children, Craig (Cindy) Levenhagen, Lake Bronson, MN, Wade Levenhagen, Lancaster, MN, Kim Olson, Bemidji, MN, Daniel Levenhagen, Strandquist, MN, Nancy (Leslie) Kaml, Greenbush, MN, and Amy (Eric Wold) Levenhagen, Thief River Falls, MN; 21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; two brothers, David Karol, Halma, MN, and Gerald (Joan) Karol, St. Cloud, MN; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Levenhagen and Margaret Levenhagen. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Troy in 1990; two daughters-in-law, Linda and Kathy; a son-in-law, Dale; brothers, John and Bill/Dale; and sisters, Verna, Hazel, Leona, and Georgine.

 Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Bronson. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster at a later date.  Arrangements by Austin Funeral Home, Hallock, MN.
