Obituaty/Rochelle L. Gronlund

Rochelle L. Gronlund 1952-2026 Born and raised in Karlstad, MN. And was living in Robbinsdale, MN.  Rochelle was born to Willis & Marjorie Wollin. Rochelle was a grandma, nurse, mom, sister and friend to many. She completed nursing school in Thief River Falls.  She then moved to Minneapolis where she began nursing at Saint Mary’s Hospital.  And she lived in south Minneapolis where she met Kent, they had lived in the same apartment building.  They were married in 1974 and soon they had children, Steven and Jennifer.  They enjoyed their home in Minneapolis for over 45 years where she enjoyed planting flowers.  They raised their children there and then it became fun “Grandma’s house” and Kent would say “what about me?” But it was always called grandma’s house. Rochelle was a mom and nurse through and through always taking care of others.  But when she became a grandma, that was that, and everything was about being a grandma. And she was such a grandma!! She would do anything for those four grandkids and loved doing it.  Even when she struggled with her health she would put being a grandma first. And she will always be remembered for putting others first.

Rochelle was proceeded in death by her husband, Kent, parents Willis & Marjorie Wollin, brothers in law Paul Colstrom, Gary Schoon, and Jim Gronlund. Survived by children Steve (Darla) Gronlund, Jenny (Peter) Omari, grandchildren Bella & Ben Omari, Adam & Aaron Gronlund, siblings Sharon (Don) Asp, Donnie (Karen), Ronnie (Julie) Wollin, Diane Schoon, Mary (Jerry) Holm, Sue Gronlund and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

February 28, 2026, visitation at 11 am, service at 12 pm and luncheon to follow at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. 7217 W Broadway, Brooklyn Park, MN 55428. Burial will take place at Fort Snelling, please contact Jenny for details.
