The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Murray at 6:00 p.m. A quorum was determined.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

We are proud of the Volleyball Team for their recognition of a Gold Award as an All-State Academic Team. Team member Jeri Pietruszewski was honored as Academic All-State by the Minnesota State High School Volleyball Association.
We are proud of sophomore volleyball athlete Faith Efta for being selected All Conference in the North Border Conference, and receiving All Conference Honorable Mention in the Northern Lights Conference
Motion by member K Oliver second by member K Helling to approve the agenda as Presented. UC

Motion by K Oliver, second by D Olson to approve the minutes of the October 8, 2025 Regular meeting as presented. UC

Superintendent Report – November 12, 2025
Tri-County School
1. You will be asked to approve substantive changes to MSBA Model Policies 306, 606, 712, and 722.
306: Adopts Minnesota’s Code of ethics for school administrators and removes NAESP statement of ethics.
606: Sets a process that involves the Superintendent if any school district community members want to inspect or ask for reconsideration of any areas of instructional materials and textbooks.
712: Changes the word surveillance to recording when using cameras on school buses. 722: Allows district to honor requests for data to request payment for copies made in advance of doing the work.
2. You will be asked to approve the Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness (CACR) report as it relates to the 2024-2025 school year. We have submitted it to the state, and it must be approved at a Fall board meeting, which will be held at the November meeting.
3. We will be hosting our annual Veteran’s Day program on Tuesday, November 11 at 10:30 in the main gym. All are invited to attend as we honor our area Veteran’s.
4. We have a submission for an overnight trip for the boy’s basketball team to attend the annual Lake Park tournament December 29-30.
5. The audit is scheduled to take place virtually during the December meeting. Dawn from SMS will also be listening to hear the information as well. We also plan to meet with the auditors prior to this to get a brief summary of their findings. Dawn will also be present virtually to help with the Truth in Taxation meeting that will also be scheduled for the December meeting should anyone come to the meeting.

Motion by K Helling second by R Hanson to approve the overnight stay of the boy’s basketball team from December 29-30 to attend the Lake Park basketball tournament. UC

$50.00 from Karlstad Insurance Agency to Class of 2027 Prom Fundraising
Motion by S Murray second by M Koland to approve the 2024-2025 Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness (CACR) report. UC
Motion by K Oliver second by A Anderson to approve the substantive updates to MSBA’s model Policy numbers 306, 606, 712, and 722. UC
Motion by K Oliver second by K Helling to approve the hiring of Kyle Folland as Junior High Basketball Coach for the 2025-2026 school year. UC
Next Regular School Board Meeting: December 10, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Tri County School Library in Karlstad, MN
Truth in Taxation will be scheduled that night as well.
The auditors have indicated they should be ready to present at the December meeting.
ICS and Ehlers would like to have an informational/Survey update meeting with us on December 10 @ 5:00 p.m
Reminder: The January meeting has been moved to Monday, January 12 to accommodate the MSBA conference.
