Amy Mildred Gunderson, 94

Amy Mildred Gunderson was born on April 14, 1928 to Swan and Ella (Nordine) Lindstrom in Lincoln Twp, Marshall County, near Strandquist, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Mamrelund Lutheran Church near the family farm and was confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Strandquist in 1942. Amy graduated from Strandquist High School in 1946 and attended 2 years at Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis. On June 17, 1950 Amy was united in marriage to Rueben Gunderson at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Strandquist and they made their home on the Gunderson family farm working together and raising five children. Amy was a longtime member of Hegland Lutheran church where she served as Sunday School Superintendent, Ladies Aid President, and church Treasurer. She enjoyed her flower gardens, needlework, baking, and Minnesota Twins baseball. Rueben passed away in 2008 and Amy continued to make her home on the farm until moving into Oakwood Homes in 2012 and the Karlstad Healthcare Center in 2019 where she passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023 at the age of 94.

Amy is survived by her children Pat (Mike) William, Ruth (Jerry) Holmaas, Tim, Daniel (Yvonne), David (Karen) Gunderson, her brother David Lindstrom, grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rueben, eight brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Hegland Lutheran Church of rural Karlstad.

Visitation was held one hour prior to services at the church.

Interment services will be held at Hegland Cemetery in the spring.

Arrangements are with Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad.
