Don B. Anderson age 75 of Karlstad, MN passed away on Saturday Sept 27, 2025 at The Karlstad Senior Living surrounded by his family, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Don was born May 20, 1950, in Greenbush, MN, the son of Lawrence and Gay (Johnson) Anderson. He was raised on the family farm in Rural Kennedy and graduated in 1969 from Karlstad High School.
Don served in the US Army as a truck driver in Germany. from 1970-1972 at which time he was honorably discharged and returned to Kittson County. On March 17, 1973, he was united in marriage to Rebecca (Becky) Johnson on the Anderson family farm in rural Kennedy. To this union 2 children were born. Kimberly and Chad.
Don was a truck driver working for MNDOT at Karlstad Truck Station for the past several years taking early retirement due to his illness..
Don was a member of the Karlstad American Legion post #445.
Among Don’s favorite pastimes were motorcycling, fishing, and camping at LOW and spending time with family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife Becky of Karlstad, MN, daughter Kimberly (Marc) Taylor, of Andrews, TX, son Chad of Karlstad, MN, 4 grandchildren; Keagan (Kristin) Anderson, Grand Forks, ND, Indiana Taylor Andrews, TX, Gracie (Will) Anderson, and Tristan Taylor (Kianna); and one great granddaughter Brielle Taylor. Brothers Jerry (Roxan) Anderson Big Lake, MN, Curtis Anderson, Afton, MN; sister Judy Braaten Fargo, ND; Brothers-in-law Thomas Johnson Karlstad, MN, Jerauld Johnson, Springville, CA, and sister-in-law Sandy Johnson Beatty, Springville, CA, as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends..
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Gay Anderson; parents-in-law Mindolf and Marilyn Johnson; a sister Sandra Selstad; a sister-in law Carolyn Larson; and a niece Stacy Gjovik Gamet.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
