Joan Elaine Pearson, 89

Joan Elaine Pearson, the youngest daughter of Emil and Alma (Logerquist) Klegstad, born on October 3, 1943, in Karlstad.MN. She was baptized and confirmed in Lutheran Faith. She attended school at both Karlstad and Strandquist. She was united in marriage to Sanford Pearson on December 2, 1960. They made their home west of Karlstad with their three daughters Claudia, Shawn and Angela. After Sanford passed away in 1988, she moved into Karlstad. Where she made her home until recently. Joan held few different jobs over the years. She really enjoyed her time at all of them. Especially her time spent at Sunny Day Cafe working as a waitress for her sister Ione and also managed to fit in some time volunteering to help her sister Irene at her Cafe making dumplings on Tuesdays in Strandquist Mn. Joan passed away, Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at LifeCare Greenbush Manor in Greenbush, MN.

In her free time, she really enjoyed playing Bingo and other numerous hobbies. Joan also was well known by her family and close friends for her love of entertaining and cooking for family time over the year’s. As family was something Joan really valued as she really enjoyed making memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joan is survived by her daughters Shawn Swenson, Strathcona MN Angela (Joel) Gregerson Badger MN, 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Sister’s Ione Nelson , Jean Davis (Moorhead, MN and half-brother Ernie Klegstad Hallock MN along with many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death with her husband, Sanford Pearson daughter Claudia Pearson, parents, sister Irene, and brothers Arnold and Elmer Gordon Klegstad.

A celebration of life will be held at the First Lutheran Church of Karlstad November 19th at 2 P.M. with Pastor Caitlin Jensen presiding. Visitation will be 1hr prior to service.

Interment will be held at the Karlstad City Cemetery following services.
